Phase 2: The True Beginning (Day 8-15) •𝕂𝕖𝕖𝕡𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕙𝕖 ℙ𝕠𝕤𝕥𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕥𝕦𝕞 𝕋𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕊𝕒𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕕 • “The Gateway allows you forty days to find your footing and inch your way into this new chapter of life. It is a time and place apart from the outside world and life as you once knew it. It holds you as you recover from pregnancy and birth and as you begin to learn about your new baby. It is a cocoon in which to take pause before the long journey of parenting begins. It is the great inhale after the great exhale“ •The First Forty Days •
The Essential Art of Nourishing the New Mother “An immensely full heart” - is the best way I can describe these past two weeks loving on our new baby girl and becoming a family of four. The reality of raising two babies under two is starting to sink in. There are moments when my toddler is playing independently and I feel as though I’ve got this all under control. And then the moments hit when I’m feeding baby girl and my toddler is two rooms across the house plundering in a random drawer. — Any other mamas feel me? When those moments come I question how will I ever survive this alone! Both are acceptable and completely normal feelings for this new adjustment phase. However, I know I won’t be tackling this alone. As always, the Lord will be my helping hand through it all and will provide for me HIS strength daily to love and care for my two babies. My postpartum body is feeling stronger everyday which makes me want to do all the things. I have resumed many of my mom duties, but at a much slower pace. Our bodies will let us know when we are doing too much too soon. I am anxious to get back to so many things, but the 40 days postpartum should be cherished as our bodies and our new babies deserve this precious time. A healing body and baby cuddles are much more important than the three baskets of laundry to fold or the dishes in the sink. (Thankfully my amazing husband has taken over dish washing duties during this time, and for that I am so grateful) #keepingthepostpartumtimesacred
