Do you need some new ideas for your spice cabinet organization? Follow along as I clean out and reorganize my spice cabinet today! I am striving for more of a minimalist kitchen! I hope organizing and decluttering makes you as happy as it makes me!
Our kitchen is still in the renovation phase since we moved into our farmhouse last October. We have an entire wall torn down with exposed studs, a portion of our island chopped away, and a grungy, gray tile countertop that haunts me daily!
However, I am making the best of the kitchen situation until the slow renovation is completed. This spice cabinet organization has helped me to find beauty in the small things.
My husband will be removing all of the upper cabinets in a few weeks to prepare for the next phase of the kitchen renovation. I emptied the upper cabinets to relocate the plates, cups, etc, and I decided I’d tackle the spice cabinet. This cabinet will soon be replaced with open shelves, so I’d like the spices to be a part of the design element so I can display some of them on the new open shelves.
Items used for my Spice Cabinet organization
MASON JARS
I first found these mini mason jars with swing top lids. I like that they are the perfect size sitting inside my current cabinets, but will also look nice displayed on my open shelves in the future. It is also easy to see which spices need to be restocked without having to rummage through the basket they were previously stored in.
I used several 16 oz sized mason jars for my more frequently used items such as baking soda, baking power, and salt.
RISERS
To add some height to my cabinet, I used six 2×4’s cut to the size of my cabinets. I plan to keep a similar once I have the open shelving near my oven. I love the look of the natural wood.
Labels
Last but not least, I began labeling with my favorite embossing label maker! My mom surprised me with this little gadget recently since she knows organizing is the way to my heart. I have been labeling everything in my home since! These labels give the little mini jars the perfect vintage touch.
A few of my less used spices are hiding in the basket on the second shelf. Our cooking oils are displayed here on the second shelf, as well. I can now see and access everything I need when cooking, which makes my organizing heart so happy!
