Come visit my simple farmhouse front porch! The Magnolias were the inspiration for this simple farmhouse look!
This wrap-around front porch drew me in and was one of the main selling points when we bought our farmhouse last year. The inside of our home still needs so much renovation and there is always a project going on. Therefore this simple, wrap-around porch brings peace to me when I sit outside and relax in this swing.
Mississippi Magnolias
These magnolias were the initial inspiration for this front porch look. My husband sadly had to cut down one of our magnolias trees this past week. It was devastating, because I absolutely love the look and smell of magnolia blooms, but it had to go.
To salvage a piece of it, I decided to gather all of the magnolia blooms that survived the fall and let them live a bit longer on my front porch.
Luckily, we have a second magnolia tree on our property that I will hopefully be able to get blooms from. I love how one magnolia can fill up a room with its fragrance!
The magnolias are placed in an antique crock. When my husband and I first began antique shopping, back when we were dating, we bought a new crock almost every time we went! At one point, I told him that our collection was becoming a little excessive, but I believe one can always find a place for a good antique crock!
My husband built me this little stool for Mother’s Day this year! I think the perfect place for its debut is on our front porch! I have requested more in various sizes so I can scatter them all around my home as little mini plant stands. 🙂
Queen Anne’s Lace- A beneficial Weed
For this simple farmhouse front porch look, I added a bouquet of Queen Anne’s Lace to an gallon glass jar. Each year, when Queen Anne’s Lace begins growing on the side of the country highways, I stop multiple times to pick a bouquet! It is an absolutely beautiful weed that blesses us with its presence at the beginning of each summer!
Adding some Cozy Vibes
I added a tassel throw blanket along with a few pillows to our front porch. We spend many afternoons out here and love the cozy porch swing vibe!
The “Live Simply” pillow cover is from my favorite little pillow shop, With Lavender and Grace. These hand painted pillows add the perfect farmhouse touch to any space!
I hand painted The “Grace” sign a few years ago. The reverse side of this sign says “JOY” and I use it every Christmas! This sign is one of my favorite decor items and gets moved all around my home.
